What is Grasshopper Air Mobility?Grasshopper Air Mobility is a deep-tech company specializing in autonomous aerial logistics solutions for the Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM) sector. We develop electric VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) drones designed to fully autonomize mid-mile logistics, enhance supply chain efficiency, and reduce environmental impact. Our customer-centric approach includes logistics consultancy, custom drone development and specialized delivery services.
-
Where is Grasshopper Air Mobility based?Grasshopper Air Mobility is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, with operational bases planned across strategic locations to support global logistics networks.
-
What problems is Grasshopper Air Mobility solving?Grasshopper is focused on revolutionizing logistics with autonomous, electric aerial transportation solutions that address: Environmental sustainability through zero-emission vehicles Dependency on human interaction in logistics operations Congestion in urban logistics with aerial delivery routes Connectivity for remote areas through establishment of aerial bridges Enhanced speed and reliability in supply chain operations Last-mile delivery challenges, especially in dense urban and remote areas Scalability issues in current drone logistics due to dependency on hydrogen or bio-/fuel-based infrastructure Noise pollution due to conventional propulsion options such as rotors or turbines

What makes Grasshopper Air Mobility different from its competitors?Driving: Unlike traditional drone logistics solutions that focus solely on air mobility, Grasshopper’s innovative approach integrates autonomous driving capabilities. This unique combination allows for seamless transition from air to road, enabling door-to-door delivery without the need for additional infrastructure. Autonomy beyond mobility: Our drones are designed to operate fully autonomously, without any human interaction. Not only do we fly and drive autonomously, we also load, unload and recharge autonomously. This enables 24/7 operations, provides the highest degree of operational efficiency and strives for optimal safety during its missions. Various Payloads & Sizes: Our designs are specialized to handle varied payload sizes and types, making them adaptable for a wide range of industrial applications. 100% Electric: Grasshopper is the only mid-mile heavy-cargo solution that is fully electric. Thereby, we don't require any additional infrastructure for our operations and can easily scale to new clients and regions. Logistics Solution: We are not only a drone manufacturer, but a network-based logistics solution. Customer Centricity: We do not offer a drone solution looking for a problem, but instead we work together with our clients to find the best possible solution to their specific needs. While we do develop general cargo drone solutions that can be applied out-of-the-box, we want to find the best fit for specific use cases to maximize operational efficiency, and ease of integration & operations.
-
How does Grasshopper Air Mobility contribute to sustainability? Our fully electric drones are designed to minimize carbon footprints in supply chain operations, supporting companies in achieving their sustainability goals. By leveraging autonomous technology, we also aim to reduce operational inefficiencies and energy usage, further contributing to environmental conservation.

What about regulations?Regulatory frameworks for autonomous aerial mobility are evolving globally. Entities like the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in the EU and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the USA are actively developing regulations that will underpin Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM) business models. These regulations encompass vehicle certification, operations, and communications. While operations in rural regions might see earlier adoption, potentially by 2027, fully autonomous operations on a regular basis are realistically not expected until the 2030s. This timeline reflects the complexity of integrating new technologies with existing frameworks. Different regions around the world are developing their own regulations at varying paces. In some areas, especially where integration into existing regulatory and operational frameworks is less complex, entry into service might occur earlier than 2030 through targeted cooperation with national stakeholders.
-
What are the future plans for Grasshopper Air Mobility?Grasshopper aims to develop customized and general drone solutions for early adopter regions, whilst expanding its reach by entering new markets as soon as possible, and continuously improving its technology.
